Strategic Partnerships Director

Polco is hiring a Strategic Partnerships Director!

Location: Remote (proximity to Boulder, CO or Middleton, WI preferred but not required)

Polco is looking for a partner relationship manager who is driven to improve communities by evangelizing engagement and informed decision-making solutions. If you are comfortably outgoing, meticulous with details, geared toward execution, and excited by the pace of ap culture, then you are set up for success in this role. You'll be an early member of a growing team. Your contributions would have a major impact on our strategies, culture, and overall business. Day-to-day you’d own a broad range of outreach and enablement activities, and collaborate with company leadership and colleagues. You’d manage and coordinate a cohort of strategic partners including industry associations, firms complementary to our business, and other thought-leaders within our field. Ultimately, you would be responsible for driving growth in Polco’s reputation amongst local governments and other public-sector organizations through positive and productive relationships.

What you'll do

To manage strategic partnerships at Polco, you'll jump right in by expanding knowledge of our products within the industry. You’ll collaborate with Polco teammates and assume ownership of both existing and prospective partner relationships. You will have great flexibility while being deeply supported by your direct and cross team colleagues.


  • Manage all aspects of strategic partner relationships which contribute to customer acquisition growth 
  • Own and facilitate all aspects of a formal board of industry thought-leaders. Manage network communication, maintain recurring meetings, organize meet-ups, and coordinate shared content between Polco and our partners. 
  • Strategize with leadership to define and utilize partnership evaluation criteria
  • Project value and investment to prioritize efforts based on ROI potential
  • Maintain frequent and effective communication channels with partners
  • Selectively source high probability partners and guide them through negotiation, onboarding, launch, and relationship management
  • Develop knowledge of our partner’s keys to success, align shared strategic plans, and deliver enablement resources
  • Accurately scope needs and engage appropriate internal resources
  • Track and report on performance to ensure accountability
  • Evolve a repeatable process, documentation, and resources for efficient partner management
  • Attend and coordinate participation in events that support partner organizations.
  • Represent Polco as a trusted thought-leader, delivering high-value content for partners and their constituencies. This may include public speaking at webinars, conferences, and other events.

Who you are

    • Team-oriented - exceptional at working with others to achieve a common goal
    • Ability to clearly communicate expectations with stakeholders
    • Higher Education and/or 5+ years experience in business, public relations, public administration, or other related field
    • Track record of success in public management, communications, marketing, and/or account management
    • Strong knowledge of government and the public sector
    • Self-directed and willing to work hands-on to achieve success
    • Strong written, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Working familiarity with office / productivity software such as Microsoft and Google Suite
    • Able to travel up to 40% of the time

Compensation and Benefits

The Strategic Partnerships Director is a full-time position with benefits in a small, yet innovative company. Starting annual salary is $70,000-$100,000 depending on experience. A competitive benefits package is provided for all full-time employees.
